The UK recently changed their visitor visa category and it now consists of sub categories. South African nationals are required to apply for a tourist/visitors visa prior to traveling to the UK. The main sub categories are:

General Tourist Visitor

A General visitor is travelling to the UK as a tourist or to visit family and friends there. This visa is issued for a period of 6 months, no employment paid of unpaid allowed and the visitor need to show that he/she has sufficient funds for the full period of your planned stay. Ask a question

Business Visitor

If your purpose of visit to the UK is for business i.e. to attend meetings, you need to apply under the Business Visitor rules. This visa is issued for a period of 6 months, no employment paid of unpaid allowed in the UK. Ask a question

Academic Visitor

This visa can be issued for up to 1 year and is intended for individuals who wish to visit the UK for research or as guest lecturers for example. No employment paid of unpaid allowed and the visitor need to show that he/she has sufficient funds for the full period of your planned stay. Ask a question
